Henrys Still Coming to Kansas

Last Update: 7/02/2009 7:45 am
LAWRENCE, Kan. - It turns out Kansas star basketball recruits Xavier and C.J. Henry will remain with the Jayhawks.

Kansas head basketball coach Bill Self confirmed on Wednesday that the Henry brothers are still headed to Lawrence.

Carl Henry, Xavier and C.J.'s father, said on Tuesday that the brothers considered dropping their commitment to KU and playing for Kentucky. That's after an article about the family in the Kansas City Star apparently angered the Henrys.

But Kansas head basketball coach Bill Self helped smooth things over. He met with the Henry family Tuesday night and worked out their issues.

Self said that the Henry parents were more upset about the Kansas City Star article than their sons were. Henry's father, Carl, reportedly changed his cell phone so he doesn't talk as much to the media. Carl Henry also apologized to KU fans for his actions.
