LAWRENCE, Kan. – The top-ranked team in the county is still the Kansas Jayhawks.
KU remained the runaway No.1 in both major polls on Monday. The Jayhawks earned 55 first-place votes in the Associated Press poll. KU is No. 1 for the second straight week.
The Kansas State Wildcats moved up to No. 9. That ties K-State for its highest ranking this season. It’s the highest the Wildcats have been ranked since 1973. K-State is also No. 9 in the Coaches poll.
The Wildcats have been ranked in both Top 25 polls for nine straight weeks. They’ve been among the AP Top 15 for six straight weeks.
Texas showed up No. 14 in the poll. Baylor came in 24th. Texas A&M just missed the Top 25.
Syracuse moved up to No. 2 in the Associated Press poll. Kentucky took the No. 3 spot.
