BELGRADE, Serbia - Kansas basketball players are coming up big for their country while playing overseas. Take KU senior All-American Danielle McCray, for example. The Olathe East High School grad was one of three players in double figures for the USA Women's World University Games team in a 93-59 victory against Great Britain on Thursday.

Her fellow KU classmate, Tyshawn Taylor, scored a team-high 13 points to lead his USA U19 World Championship team to a 106-55 victory against Iran.

For McCray, scoring came easy. She knocked down 6-of-10 shots from the field, including her lone three-point field goal attempt. She also pulled down four rebounds and tied a team-high by coming up with four steals.

The U.S. squad finishes preliminary play against host Serbia on Friday. Second round action will be held July 5-7. The medal semifinal will take place on July 9 and the medal finals will be played on July 11.
