LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - Street crews across the metro are being applauded for responding to Monday's snowfall.
Public Works directors in several metro cities decided to plow neighborhood streets even though there was only light snowfall.
In early January during a heavy snow storm, residents in many metro neighborhoods were upset because the snow was so high that cars were getting stuck.
Some of those residents blamed street crews for not plowing soon enough.
So when the snow fell on Monday street crews were dispatched to plow and treat the main roads and neighborhood streets.
Lee's Summit Public Works Deputy Director Bob Hartnett said, "Our decision process was let's get the snow off the roads as quick as we can and treat it before it has a chance to really freeze."
Christen Robson of Lee's Summit was pleased to see that road crews were working hard on neighborhood streets.
"I think they're doing fine; I don't have any complaints," said Robson.
