ALAMEDA, Ca. – Former Chiefs defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast has a new job. And it’s in Kansas City’s division.
The Oakland Raiders hired Pendergast as an assistant after the Chiefs let him go as their defensive coordinator last month. The Raiders did not reveal what his role would be.
Pendergast spent five previous seasons as defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals. He helped them make it to the Super Bowl a year ago. He previously worked as an assistant with the Houston Oilers, Dallas and Cleveland.
The Raiders still haven’t announced whether Tom Cable will return as head coach.
